Open Burning: Open burning is currently allowed on Anarchist Mountain provided it is not restricted by the daily Venting Index.
Venting Index: Burning is permitted when venting index is 55 or more only during periods where open burning is permitted (i.e. there is no burn ban in effect.) Be sure to check the venting index to determine if burning is allowed on any given day. Determine Fire Size Allowed:
|Campfires||Any fire smaller than 0.5 meters high by 0.5 meters wide|
|Category 2 Fires||1 to 2 concurrently burning piles no larger than 2 meters high by 3 meters wide|
|Stubble or grass burning over an area less than 0.2 hectares|
|Category 3 Fires||Any fire larger than 2 meters high by 3 meters wide|
|3 or more concurrently burning piles no larger than 2 meters high by 3 meters wide|
|1 or more burning windows|
|Stubble or grass burning over an area greater than 0.2 hectares|
Take Proper Precautions: Dig a guard around your fire area. Ensure you have sufficient water and necessary tools on hand before lighting your fire. Do Not Leave Your Fire Unattended!
You Are Responsible: Anyone found in contravention of an open fire prohibition may be fined up to $1,150. If your fire escapes and results in a wildfire, you may be fined anywhere from $100,000.00 to $1 million and be sentenced to up to one year in prison. Please check with local government authorities for any other restrictions before lighting any open fire.
